Indian Wedding Musicians & Baraat Dhol Players
Book a professional dhol player for your Baraat, reception or Sangeet through Royaal Musicians. We also provide tabla, sitar, shehnai, violin, percussion and saxophone for Indian weddings throughout Southern California.
For most couples who land on this page, the main question is simple: who can lead our Baraat, how does the dhol work with the DJ, and what can we actually book? Start there.
- Baraat Dhol
- Dhol + DJ
- Reception Dhol
- Tabla
- Sitar
- Shehnai
Live dhol, mobile sound and a Baraat that moves with your guests.
Royaal’s mobile Baraat service is built for the procession itself: live dhol, traveling sound, DJ support and coordinated cues from the groom’s arrival through the final handoff into the Milni or ceremony.
More than a dhol player standing in one place.
The Baraat is a moving event. The sound, drummer, groom, family and planner all have to move together. Royaal can coordinate the entire procession so the energy builds instead of falling apart halfway down the route.
Dhol and Baraat booking options.
Royaal currently custom-quotes percussion based on event type, performance time and whether the musician is booked with the Royaal DJ. These configurations show what each level actually covers.

- Pre-event DJ rehearsal
- Soundcheck for larger venues
Four things we need before the wedding.
The procession should feel spontaneous to your guests. The logistics behind it should not be.
Route
Where does the Baraat start, where does it end and how long should the procession actually take?
Groom arrival
Horse, car or walking entrance? We time the dhol around the point where the groom joins the crowd.
DJ & sound
Confirm whether you have mobile sound, who is controlling the music and how the dhol will be cued.
Final handoff
The last beat should lead somewhere: Milni, a family welcome, venue entrance or ceremony transition.

“What set Royaal apart was the MC knowing exactly when to step back during our pheras and when to bring the energy back up. That cultural awareness made all the difference.”Meera & Ethan · Indian Wedding · Anaheim Hills
Other Indian wedding musicians.
Dhol is the hero service on this page. These musicians are available when you want live music for the ceremony, cocktail hour or a later reception feature.
Tabla
Rhythmic accompaniment for classical sets, cocktails and smaller live ensembles.
Sitar
A quieter classical sound for guest arrival, cocktail hour and seated dinner.
Shehnai
Traditional ceremonial color for weddings where shehnai fits the family’s ceremony and regional tradition.
Violin, Percussion & Saxophone
Modern live additions for cocktail hour, first dance and DJ-led reception sets.
Indian weddings at major SoCal venues.
Royaal’s Indian wedding production page lists experience at these Southern California venues. That matters for Baraat planning because every property handles routes, sound, horses, vehicles and outdoor timing differently.

Baraat & dhol questions.
Can we book the dhol player without booking Royaal as our DJ?
Yes. Royaal’s percussionist is available as a standalone booking. If you already have a DJ, the musician can coordinate directly with that vendor on tempo and cues.
How long does a dhol player perform?
A short entrance may only need a few minutes of active performance. Royaal’s entrance package allows up to 30 minutes, while a DJ-synced reception feature is typically 30 to 60 minutes. Longer coverage can be structured around the full event.
Do you provide sound for the Baraat?
Royaal can coordinate live dhol with the Baraat sound system and DJ so the procession has music coverage from the starting point through the final handoff.
How far ahead should we book?
Royaal recommends booking major Indian wedding services roughly 8 to 18 months ahead for peak dates. If the wedding is sooner, send the date anyway so availability can be checked.
What should we ask our venue before planning the Baraat?
Confirm the approved procession route, outdoor sound limits, timing restrictions, vehicle or horse rules, where the DJ can stage, and where the Baraat must end before the ceremony begins.
Can the dhol player come back during the reception?
Yes. A popular format is Baraat coverage earlier in the day followed by a shorter DJ-synced dhol or percussion set during the reception.
Check your date.
Send the wedding date and venue first. Add the Baraat details if you already know them.
Need help deciding?
Select “Not sure yet.” Royaal can recommend whether you need dhol only, dhol plus Baraat DJ/sound, or Baraat and reception coverage.
